Dr David Sime is a Melbourne and internationally trained consultant orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in conventional and robotic assisted hip and knee joint replacements; sports knee surgery including arthroscopy and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. David completed his medical training in 2009 at the University of New South Wales, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with first class honours. He subsequently studied a Masters of Surgery, graduating with first class honours through the University of Edinburgh in 2015.

In 2021, David undertook a fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in Scotland. In 2022, David completed a prestigious sports knee surgery fellowship at the internationally renowned Fortius Clinic in London, England. The Fortius Clinic is the largest sports medicine clinic in the United Kingdom and an officially certified FIFA centre of excellence. Here he worked alongside Mr Andy Williams, who is widely regarded as one of the worlds leading knee surgeons. During his time there, David treated a number of elite players from top level professional sports teams in the English Premier League and Premiership Rugby, as well as Olympic athletes. This experience provided David with subspecialty training in complex anterior cruciate and multi-ligament reconstruction, meniscal and cartilage preservation techniques; as well as enhanced recovery and return to play programmes.
